Everybody knows at least one Oasis song, whether that's their more classic songs of Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger or their lesser known hits. So when Oasis split, it broke the hearts of thousands.

But you can still see Noel Gallagher, who is currently touring with his new band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. The band has visited Essex this weekend (August 5) to perform their sold-out concert in Saffron Walden. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds visited Audley End House and Gardens for a one-off show, featuring a selection of the band’s most well-loved songs.

The concert is part of Heritage Live, a unique annual concert series that brings world-famous artists to the most beautiful landmarks in the country. Past concerts have taken place at historic sites such as Kenwood House, Hampstead Heath, Englefield House, Berkshire and the Ardingly Showground.

I was invited along to see them to see whether they're just as good as Oasis - and spoiler alert - I was thoroughly impressed. I took my boyfriend along with me to Audley End to see Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

The doors opened at around 3pm, but as the weather was not on our side with thunderstorms and heavy rain pouring down on us - IN AUGUST - we decided to wait to enter just before Tom Meighan began his set at 5pm. We eagerly waited the former Kasabian frontman to make an appearance, secretly hoping that he'd play at least some of his old band's songs.

Between waiting for acts, we decided to have an explore of the grounds. We instantly noticed the stunning backdrop of Audley End house just behind the stage. It was breath-taking. We then wandered around the site to see what was on offer.

We were invited to the VIP area which consisted of its own bar and fancy toilets, as well as under cover shelter - of which was very useful for hiding away from the torrential rain and cold - IN AUGUST. Speaking of the bar, they had their own brewed beer, aptly named Heritage Live lager which cost £6.90 for a pint. My boyfriend who came along with me enjoyed a couple of these, describing it as having a tang towards the end - certainly a memorable drink for a memorable evening.

Also in this VIP area, which is available to buy, was The Stringfellows, a four piece violin band, who kept the crowd entertained between sets. They played some classic hits including some you wouldn't expect to be played on a violin such as Sweet Child O' Mine. by legendary rock band Guns N Roses.

But, a bit later, Tom entered the stage in true rock form, energetically bouncing across the stage, engaging with the sopping wet audience. We were really impressed by his strong voice and energetic stage presence. He was most definitely the perfect fit for a frontman of a rock band.

We wasn't disappointed with the performance - in true Tom Meighan style, he was very eccentric and entertaining right from the beginning. Playing also a range of Kasabian songs that everybody knew and was singing along to, despite the torrential rain - IN AUGUST. As a whole, we really enjoyed Tom's hour-long set would see him again!

About 45 minutes later The Zutons came on for their hour long set. They are best known for their song Valerie, famously covered by Amy Winehouse - but it wasn't just this song that made everybody jump up on their feet.

We thought their set sounded amazing, with frontman Dave McCabe having a very strong voice throughout. Meanwhile, saxophonist and vocalist Abi Harding also gave the set something different as a saxophone is rarely used nowadays. All of their songs are very catchy, with easy listening and very tuneful. We really enjoyed their set and would also see them again!

After their set, rain began to get heavier and we were all desperate for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds to grace the stage. 45 minutes after that, our prayers were answered.

As soon as Noel appeared, huge cheers erupted from the audience, a little while later his band followed suit, where Noel hilariously said: "Nice of you to show up", which got a few giggles from the crowd.

They began their set with their brand new release called 'Pretty Boy'. Now, I will be honest with you, we did cheat and listened to it, along with his other songs in his newly released album - Council Skies - a few days before we arrived. We were impressed then and were even more impressed with it sung live.

All of Noel and his High Flying Bird's songs were very tuneful and made you want to tap your feet and sway side to side. One song in particular was very beautiful and made everybody stop in silence and watch in awe. The acoustic song called Dead In The Water was one of the biggest stand out moments of the set. Noel sounded incredible, with his Supersonic voice really packing a punch.

The rain kept going throughout Noel's set and was Half The World Away from the weather that you'd expect in August. Nevertheless, everyone kept going and enjoyed Noel's funny little quips about Essex, as well as the cardboard cut out of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola behind a glow in the dark Manchester City badge.

Throughout the set, I couldn't help but think how similar to Oasis they sounded when playing, but also keeping their own unique twist on songs. I noticed how one of the guitar players looked quite similar to Liam Gallagher, with a similar hair cut as well as those famous sunglasses - it was almost like watching Oasis in the flesh! Maybe that was all part of their Masterplan?

Lots of Oasis fans attended the concert, with a lot of people shouting "sing Wonderwall" - but as the concert went on, they Little By Little realised that it might not happen.

In the final section of the show, Noel played some of his hit tunes with Oasis, which got the crowd feeling like they'd Live Forever. Some of the more eagle-eyed of you may have noticed the Oasis references throughout the review - this was intentional, and were the Oasis songs that he sung during the set, barring Supersonic. Noel did acknowledge that one of his new songs sounded like the famous Oasis song, though.

Although it rained pretty much the whole afternoon and evening and we were absolutely freezing - IN AUGUST - we had a great time and really enjoyed the music. All three acts sounded incredible and made for a brilliant live entertainment show with spectacular music - making standing out in the rain and cold worth every second.

We enjoyed it so much, that we now want to watch Noel and his High Flying Birds again - in slightly less damp conditions - IN AUGUST. On our way out, people were quite disappointed that Noel didn't play Wonderwall, but I think every song sounded incredible and was highly entertaining. So, one thing I would say to those people is: Don't Look Back In Anger.
